May sound off the wall, but I have always used a super-hold aerosol hairspray. I started doing this as a bicycle mechanic. Bicycle?!?! you may be thinking....Well, when you bang large mountains regularly jumping off of things from heights the bike was never designed to handle, you want your grips to stick....

An added benefit is that the hairspray has a respectable amount of alcohol. This allows the grip to slide on easily. This means you can easily adjust them while installing them. Once the alcohol evaporates, the grips are good and tight.

Use crazy glue. Any CA glue will work, in fact.

The grips I bought came with two tubes of the stuff.

Gel kind works best. Apply around bar end and slide up quickly, it will set in about 10 seconds.

FYI CA glue sets in absence of oxygen - that's why it's ideal for grips.
