I just bought a brand new 2003 black Speed 4, it has 1243 miles on it now. I love the bike but I wanted a little more power and sound out of it. I just bought a "Race Only" SS Scorpion Bolt-On can and a K&N air filter. I knew that this would probably effect the fuel injection, But I figured that the TT600 Dynojet Power Commander would work fine on this bike with a custom re-map...well I called Dynojet and they said that they haven't done any tests on it...since our bike is not very popular...SIGH .....but they did not think it would work because of a O2 sensor or something. Well I installed both the bolt-on and K&N on my bike, and it does have some dips in the power band and is running a little lean(pipes turning colors etc.) I loved the sound and power above 7000 rpm....but down low there is a HUGE dip. PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU HAVE ANY INFO!!!! I want to know if anyone has my bike and have installed a power commander or any other type of FI modulator(ie tune boy, etc.) and the model # etc., any special install tricks, etc..........the mechanic at the dealership said that he may could adjust the FI some to compensate(since this S4's has adjustments)........and two "pro tuners" have told me to just take the K&N off and re-install the factory air filter and the dips would be gone(cheap way out)....well that wasn't true! It still sucked...taking the pipe off is not an option, so anyone...or everyone... please give me some suggestions...I'd like the cheapest way out, that will keep my bike sounding cool but smooth out my power band(and extra power would be a bonus)! Thanks For All Of Your Help! :???:

First, the Power Commander without a custom map won't make any difference. Neither will TuneEdit. A Power Commander from a TT600 will fit a S4, since the bikes are nearly the same, but you will have to make a custom map. I understand that you can richen up the mixture by a certain amount with the latest PC without hooking it up at all, but that is just hearsay. My experience so far has all been with TuneEdit, so I cannot address PC with any confidence at all. Tuning out flat spots is a challenge without access to a dyno, but if you are willing to spend the time and the cash, it can be done very successfully.

Thanks.....well, I have pretty much decided to buy a Dynojet Power Commander PCIII/USB (P/N 505-211)for my bike and get it customed remapped at the local dynojet certified tuner.......but I've read a few places that I would have to buy a O2 Eliminator Sensor (p/n 76423006) before it would work............and then I saw a comment where someone said that our bike and the TT600 didn't even have a O2 sensor and said that I would need to add one before it would work(without the check engine light being on). The tuner said that he had never done a TT600 or a S4 and didn't know......HELP!!!! :???: If you or anyone has any info to help the rest of my process...it would be greatly appreciated...before it drives me to drinking....lol :-g

There is no O2 sensor on our bikes.
