Hi great forum.
Ive found lots of usefull tips already. I've been searching through the site since i picked up my speed four.
Anyway . does the seat cowl come as standard on the S4? as I got the bolts for one in the wallet with the owners manual and most of the pics I've seen have one. The bikes booked in for its first service next week (after a four week wait ) and want one if its meant to be there.

yep. seat cowl is standard. you might be able to pick one up from someone here. quite a few have removed it, myself included. I was thinking of putting it back on for a bit actually
what color is your S4?

Mine didn't come with a seat cowl either. The dealer said that it didn't get shippied to them with one and that the bikes that come with a strap across the seat usually don't. My bike is an '05 closeout, if that makes a difference. I was going to order one anyway, but they have it listed for $169. Too steep for me for just that useless plastic.

BTW, does anyone have a Racing Yellow seat cowl they want to get rid of?

well not sure about the seat strap thing, mine came with a strap across the seat and a cowl.
if you want it, definitely get the dealer to do it.
if your bike was the superior color of blue
:-D I would think about selling it to ya. bummer dude. good luck either way

Hey,Im just relaying to you all what my dealer said. I never said it was accurate. I guess that was his best excuse to me. I tried to get it, but I got the radiator shrouds and belly pan for almost free and $500 in accessories to boot. So I didn't feel like pushing the issue and creating bad blood. My dealer are really cool people so I dont think they are trying to pull a fast one on me. They would have very little to gain by keeping a seat cowl from me.

the '02 bikes did not come with the seat cowl, but '03 on the seat cowl was standard......sorry buddy, but triumph didn't ship the front wheel with the bike, you'll just hafta buy your own or do without. i have seen the uncrating of an S4 and it comes in a cardboard box wrapped in thin foam, it could have easily been over looked.....just think that seat cowl was included into the price of the bike..after financing how much will you end up paying for a seatcowl that you never even had? after having a crappy dealer, and then going with a good one, i will never go back to taking things with a smile...better make it right now while the deal is fresh, a year from now they won't lift a finger to help you out.. and besides, if the dealership left out a part, what else did they do half ass during setup? okay now i am going to go squeeze a stress ball and count to 10......
