Ok now Im thinking of a chopped cf silencer. i want it shorter because they are just too long. What I would like to know is if its ok to just take apart a silencer, cut and put it back together?
thanks
also is cf hard to cut??? given that it is supposed to be very strong.

tOLD YOU CAN DRILL OUT THE POP RIVETS, ANGLE GRIND TO SIZE PUT END ETC BACK ON AND RE POP RIVET IN PLACE SOUNDS SIMPLE BUT GRUSOM TO ME, AND AS FURY SAYS YOU AINT GOING TO KNOW HOW IT SOUNDS UNTIL ITS DONE AND YOU CANNOT GO BACK, I AM THINKING ABOUT TRYING IT WITH A CHEAP ZX6R CAN FROM EBAY BUT NOT SURE I HAVE THE BALLS TO TRY! :hammer: PS sorry for shouting i am a bit deaf

I did it for a Micron ZRX 1100 can. Very easy, just like doogledog said, just pull it apart (the Micron can is bolted together) angle grind a bit off, weld and/or rivet it together. Didn't take half an hour.

At least for me the sound is very good. Discreet, but throaty on low revs, but goddiggety the devilish scream from hell above 9K :lgh:

yeah i didnt think it would be too hard but let me ask you this, do kawasaki pipes have the same mounting points as the S4 or are you not using that bracket that holds it up from the passenger footpeg?

The pipe connection was the same but i had to bend the band a bit to make it fit the footpeg connector.

To check which pipes fit, LeoVince have excellent technical drawings (LeoVince part finder) Look for flange type 12A, they'll all fit TT600, S4 and Daytona pipework

The Remus can on mine was a ZX6R can and used the same mounting points I had to make the holes a little bit longer on the bracket that bolts to the can to make the hole to the hanger fir, 5 min job and just bolted into the same place as the OE can :hammer:

Agreed about the length of most pipes on this bike (including the stock pipe). They seem to hang out the back.

Triumph (fake) CF can. Super short. Very loud. :-D If only I could fix the low end fussiness with the open pipe....

I have a s/s ZX6R end can made by CARBON CAN COMPANY, cost 100 squid off ebay, bolts straight on, no mods needed. Sounds a bit raspy but otherwise OK. I don't think it matters how short your can is as the exhaust is just too ***** long. Can this be cut?

Yes it can as above I saw a guy on a bike meet the other day with a cut ZX6R can SS remus like mine he said it took a couple of hours but would be quicker now he knows how, he used a hacksaw but agreed a angle grinder would be better if it did'nt overheat and discolour the steel, sounded good but illegal. :hammer:
