Howdy ladies and gents,

On my prevous bike, there was a handy little knob/set screw just beside the fuel-reserve petcock, that allowed me to notch up / down the idle. The bike was carbureted.

Does the Spd 4 have such a thing? I haven't looked yet...it's dark out?! But, I've noticed this year after taking it out of storage the it idles very low at start (as compared to last year)- 'round 600rpm's.

BTW, what do your Spd 4's idle at on start-up?

Thanks,

There's no idle speed adjustment knob with the EFI...my 02 spec S4 idles about 1200 when warm, higher when cold, not sure how high, because I normally drive off right after startup.

Idle is controlled by the ECU which has the following targets in degs C:
2000rpm when lower than 34 degs
stepping down to 1750rpm @ 44 degs, then 1500rpm @ 54 degs and finally settling @ 1300rpm @ 64 degs and above.

Obviously in reality it smooths out the steps.

Mike, at 600rpm from cold yours don't sound right whereas B02S4 sounds pretty much spot on.
