I've been looking at this item as an addon to my Black Speed Four. I'm pretty sure it would do some good when I end up hitting the highways for extended periods. Just curious to hear from anyone that has one, as well as if anyone has a suggestion for making a temporary mounting system for it. That way if I'm sticking local and riding twisties I can take it off, but if I'm hitting highway I can put it on. The only thing I can think of is some kind of locking nut or the like, but that would require ripping up the fairing.
Thanks.

i didn't have money for one, so i made one out of a $20 r1 windscreen, it does help a lot with wind, i think they're ugly, but when it was like 25 degrees out, it didn't seem quite as ugly, i just drilled the 4 holes for mine, i don't really care about them, i hate the flyscreen anyway, anything over 40 degrees and it's definately not gonna be on, but they're just little holes, so you can't really tell unless you get close and really look at it, i guess really strong velcro could work, but i'd be too paranoid, i would constantly be messing with it just to make sure that it's acctually attached

I like the velcro idea...as you said, no permanent marking, but I agree that I would be constantly checking on it. Any particular type of velcro that comes to mind as "heavy duty".
tt, since you're in Pitts I would normally offer to swing by and look at your setup, but since I'm displaced to Qatar for my job, that isn't going to happen. You wouldn't have any pics would you?
I still have till Sept to figure something out.

I dont have any brand name, but look for the velcro where the loop side is very stiff, not brushy like the old fashioned kind. If you attach and try to unattach different kinds, you will get an idea of the holding strength. And use a continuous bead of the stuff, rather than small strips, for better strength.
