I fitted a quick action throttle from a motocross shop. I had to cut down the plastic end to the cable to fit the throttle body and then file down the nipple so it would thread in.
Brilliant mod. As I can easily throttle right down & back up with one hand movement it allows quicker smoother gearchanges at mid revs and a more comfortable arm position. It cost £18 and took about 2hrs to do.
I have used it for over a year great :-D

Dont know about the cruise, the new sp3 on others i'm sure, have a 1/4 throttle, just go to the dealer and order a new throttle grip for a 05 sp3. best 10 bucks you will spend..

Hey, Jon, I think you told me once, but I forgot- what was the brand name of the throttle you put on your bike? I never did figure out how to make the one I had work. It was a motocross part, but the throttle barrely was way too short, the cable had an oddball fitting on the end, and I ended up breaking the whole assembly trying to get it to work.

Will I guess I was just lucky.
The throttle I bought was marked "made in sweden" and that was all . It was a cheap "...not a big risk then" purchase.
Description
It has an bright aluminium body with a round housing facing the front containing a nylon wheel that allows the cable (which enters parallel to the axis of the handlebars) to turn through 90 degrees & run around the throttle drum.
I think it was designed to work with a ball shaped throttle nipple so someone on site may guess a make from that?? Anyway this meant I had to file the corners off the Triumph barrel nipple to feed it through the housing. This is where what we call "mole grips"{Vise Grips} actually act like a vice {vise} . I nipped hte nipple (?) in the mole grip and pinned that to the bar allowed me to file one side then turn it over.
Some of my fastest riding mates hate the QA throttle...but I love it & I past them on our last ride!
Jon :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Yeah, the barrel was my ultimate downfall. The one I got had a bullet shaped nipple/fitting/whatever you call it on the end. It wasn't big enough to engage at the throttle end. So I tried modifying the other end to make it work. That ended up making a mess, too. I might try again, especially since the part I got was cheap, too. The nylon barrel broke when I tried modifying it to fit inside the Triumph throttle housing so I could use the stock cable.

Now I remember the brand name- it was Motion Pro. The problem is that we have a single cable and most street bikes use a dual cable these days.
