I think you're looking at this a little wrong. The reason that the exhaust is cool is because the ceramic paint isn't conducting the heat from within - i.e it's staying *internal* to the system. So heat that was radiating out to cool the system remains inside and hence the exhaust is probably running alot hotter than was intended. These are just my initial thoughts but I think if you do the whole system you could have problems.
