Hi all
My son has fitted a cliford alarm to his tt600 and now has the fault light on. He phoned the shop where he brought it and was told it's because he had the fuel tank of and the ignition on.For them to sort out the light it will be 1 HOUR'S labour at a cost of £60. I have found out all they do is plug in the computer and press the button which takes about 5 min's . if left will it sort its self like the tiger's do after changeing the battery out or do i jump on the bike shop customers relations as between us we have brought 5 bike's from them in the last 3 years. Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks

It might go after three heat cycles.

If not then I see you are in Headley - is that near Leatherhead cos that's not far from me and I have a Tuneboy cable which should allow me to read (and possible reset) the diagnostic codes on another bike - will double check if you like

Who is the dealer that wants £60? What a bunch of w*kers, I'd like to know so I can scratch them off my list!

I don't think you have to get it all the way to the fan. It is a cold start to getting good and warm. I believe it does have to go through its cold start routine of richening the mixture, etc. To be honest, I don't know exactly what temperatures start and finish a heat cycle, since you can adjust all of the settings for cold start, fan, and just about everything else with TuneEdit, and Triumph adjusted them a little from map to map, too.

I have heard of problems on Keihin injected bikes with Power Commanders, because of some kind of O2 sensor issue, but you are the first I have heard of with that kind of problem with a Sagem injected bike. That doesn't mean it can't happen. It just means I haven't heard about it.

I have gone through the 3 heat cycles but light never went out :brk:

So I gave a mate a ring who works for a large breakdown service in the U.K. He plugged his laptop into the E.C.U, he didn't know whether it would work as he has only ever used it on cars before :???:

And guess what? he was able to read the fault!!

1) The fuel pump, we think thats because the tank was removed to gain access to the injectors.

2) And air flow meter, again when fitting the power commander had to tap into the air flow meter.

So both of us were well pleased :chug:

He reset the fault light and all is restored.

Glad to hear you got it sorted.

btw a heat cycle (for a TT600 & Speed Four) is when:

The temperature rises to 72 degs C or more
If
The temperature had to rise by at least 23 degs C in order to get to 72 (i.e. was 49 or below to start with)
