Does anyone have any tips for cutting fairing plastic/ windshield plastic??? i.e. what types of blades to use, and machinery.

Thanks for your help.

You might go to a home center, and see what they sell or recommend to cut lexan. If you are just trimming it, a sharp utility knife might work.

It is a lot like cutting wood, except that you want to use the finest tooth saw you can get your hands on, and you want to use a low speed setting, like cutting metal, so you don't melt the plastic. For crash bungs, I just used a regular hole saw and used a fine wood rasp to reshape the edge where I missed a little. I then used a metal file to finish it smooth. For other cuts, I have used a metal cutting blade on a saber saw, also running a low blade stroke speed. The same finish and fine shaping tools work on that, too. For cement on painted OEM plastic, I use ABS cement from the hardware store. For things like the air intake nozzles, I use adhesive silicone sealant if the tabs broke off. I haven't done any experiments with the clear plastic, so I don't know what works on that without messing it up.
