I've had my stator cover on & off about 3 or 4 times now. I agree with DeCosse, a screwdriver might be a little to risky; I used some the second time, & lo and behold some lovely dents showed up on the gasket... Ordered a new gasket (it came wobbly, not flat), and wrestled to get it back on. Instead of screwdrivers, I now just use my fingers (which of course get smashed like 80 times in the process!) ...I don't think there's an easy way to perform the task; that magnet & orientation & keeping gasket in place... I somewhat agree with Will, the first time I used silicone & it leaked oil. Thinking I went too light on the silicone, I opened 'er back up and put a little more on there. Hasn't leaked since, so take that for what it's worth.
