I have recently purchased my 2003 s4, and have come across your website and its great. Now im hoping some of you can give me some advice as to how easy or difficult its going to be to :???: to fit a ermax undertray.
Does the ecu and all the gubbins under the seat have to be removed? or can i just cut away the rear mudgaurd and position the undertray without having to remove the original tray?
Im hoping to do quite a few bits & bobs to the s4 as i have fallen in love with the looks and just the amount of confidence the bike gives me.I have only been riding 18 months (suzuki gsxf to start with, wont mention that again )
and have so far just fitted a set of Gilles rearsets now i wanna tidy up the arse end but everyone's advice would be great.

Hi Lowey - welcome!

I've got an Ermax undertray but haven't fitted it yet.....
Mainly because I realised that I won't be able to fit my panel protectors when using my panniers as they clip on via the indicator mounts which I will have to remove : ">

The original tray stays but you do have to hack off the number plate hanger. I think it came with some pretty basic instructions so I'll root them out and double check.

But those rearsets are nice, touble is they cost a bloody fortune!

Cheers Rik,

The rearsets came off ebay, guy had only had them on his machine for 1000 miles.

They were mint! :upthumb: he said he was not comfortable with them. cost me £185 inc postage i know im happy.

Thanks for advice on undertray, I think im gonna have problems anyway as there were only 2 self tapping screws with it and them 2 screws cant hold the entire tray on!!
any instructions would be helpful

thanks again,

I have noticed a few members have fitted ermax undertrays to their s4 from looking back at previous topic's.

Please if any of you can give advice on installation that would be great. Everyones photos look great but as im not that technically minded and have no instructions to go on installation advice would be very much appreciated. :???:

Good News - Found the original instructions including pictures and two self tapping screws.

Bad News - The original instructions are 3rd generation photocopies so the pictures are pretty poor I have added an outline to the second link below to better emphasise the area (I think!) to cut.

Original

With outline added

I will post the English instrucitons later as just realised I left them in the garage

Cheers rik, :-g

Im grateful for the help you have given.

I have got untill the end of february to get the bike the way i want it before i start using it again properly.

While im fitting that ermax undertray have also bought a replacement L.E.D rear light so gonna pop that in at the same time hopefully.

just debating what to do about the number plate light! :???:

Its only come M.O.T time that i think it may become a problem, so im thinking leave it untill then and if they fail it??? just knock something up tempoary.

Thanks again. :chug:
