Yikes.....I don't know what a 'good' valve is supposed to look like, but I'm pretty sure that not it!

And why are you whispering??....I thought I was watching a wildlife documentary for a moment!!

See the ring of rust, what could have caused that? Did water get sucked in?

I'd take my time and find a good donor motor. Some might disagree, but from my personal experience and experience around automotive message boards, it is much more of a challenge than you think to rebuild an engine as tight as it comes from the factory. If you can find an unopened, low mile used motor, that'd probably be your best and cheapest option IMO.

Thanks SquarE. I found one low miles 5000. looks very clean almost new, unlike mine. I just have to pick it up today or tomorrow.

Nice! Should have plenty of miles left in a maintained 5k engine.
