Hello all, welcoming myself.Ive had my first Triumph (02 TT600)for about 8 months now and heres a few observations to share. Bike handles beautifully and loves to REV, (only recently noticed it has the shorter "not for road use" can fitted) the bike doesnt suffer from flat spots or jerkyness as ive read from others but has a really nice "bark". Ive had to replace the throttle cable due to water entry (dont know which end, it was completely rusted with no warning). Dealer replaced the plastic fuel connectors as a recall after i broke one getting the tank off.Replced the chain with a RK 525GXW (Au$229.00). The factory alarm is probably effective but a pain in the bum. Made my own helmet hooks out of cable. The bike has become progressively "noisy" of late, im guessing it could be cam chain? Is there an easy way to adjust the chain?

How many miles/km's? It might be due for a valve adjustment. I think the first adjustment is at 12k miles/19311 km's.

The bike has 22000 KMs up and im not sure of its service history. My local dealer thought an oil change may quieten it down, it hasn't. Im not entirely confident with the dealer, and would consider pulling it apart myself if there was a workshop manual for the bike.

The cam chain tensioner is self-adjusting as far as I know. It isn't a very complicated part anyway. These motors are noisy to start with. If the oil is filled to the right level, you will still hear a light tapping noise that comes and goes. That is fuel injectors. It sounds like valves, but it is the injectors. If you don't like the way it sounds, run injector cleaner through the bike for a while. That might quiet it back down. It isn't something to worry about. If you have a louder, harder tapping, it could be all kinds of things, but I doubt that it is anything other than the injectors.

yo, someone from tt600.org posted an electronic version of the TT600 service manual online but I don't think it's still up on the web. Send me a PM if you would like me to email you a copy of the chapters in a PDF format. The only chapter that is missing is chapter 8.
