I've heard that going softer on the rear rebound and harder on the front preload and rebound than the recommended settings in the owner's manual makes a big positive difference in the way the MC handles. Any thoughts or info?

I had GMD Computrack set the suspension on my D650 - made a HUGE difference. I had fiddled with the rear and the front myself a couple of times - my big gripe is that the rear spring just doesn't seem to be stiff enough, it still compresses more than I'd like on tight switchbacks.

Just having them set my clickers cost me $50 - but they did preload, compression, rebound and sag. Started with me on the bike, then off the bike, then lift the bike off the ground, etc.

If GMD isn't out your way I am sure there is a speed shop out there who can do the same inexpensively. It was, for me, the biggest improvement to my bike to date. Shaved FOUR seconds off my lap time.
