Daytona 600 Electical Problems, Stalls and No Start

Hi, I know there are a ton of threads on here about electrical problems and I have used some of them, but I am stuck. My 04 Daytona 600 is having some problems when it gets hot and hot outside, by hot outside I mean 110, the desert is rediculous this time of year.

In the afternoon if it is really hot outside, it doesn't always want to start. Everything will turn on, but when I push the ignition switch, everything dims and the engine doesn't crank. I guessed it was a low power problem, so the stator has been replaced and the R/R is replaced with an FH012aa.

This morning I was on my way to work and it was quite warm out, and the bike just cut out. The guages flashed once and that was it, the engine was dead. It took about 5 minutes of me sitting there and letting it cool down to get it to start again. It had the same problem it sometimes does in the afternoon, it ignition switch wouldn't turn it over.

I know these bikes have some electrical gremlins, I just wanted to see if anyone has expericed this same problem and has a fix.

Thanks,
Tyler

How is your battery? Desert places can sap batteries pretty quick. Make sure its fully charged before going gremlin hunting.

It is fully charged, it was charged the day before and is only a couple months old. It was replaced right after the stator was.

I will check the voltages on it just to be sure though.

I just rode home, the bike cranked without any problem whatsoever. And had no issues at all on the way home and it was 120 out. I need to move out of the desert.

what temp is it running at when it stalls out? i ride mine in the phoenix area which is at least as hot if not hotter than 29 palms(yeah, hard to believe i know) and aside from mine getting up to about 205 while moving and fan trying to keep it below 220 when sitting, i havent had any cutouts(really think its time to redo the entire cooling system....) . im curious if your ecu is killing the motor as a safety to keep it from melting if it thinks its getting too hot.

The highest I have seen it is 220 when its sitting. Which isn't too bad I don't think. I noticed this morning that when I was on my way to work, the RPMs dropped incredibily low when I pulled the clutch in, so low, the guages turned off. It didn't stall this time though, like it did yesterday. It only seems to do it when its over 200, which if i remember is when the fan is on. I remember seeing a thread on here about that same problem so I am going to check that one. Hopefully I can figure out the issue.

My temp gauge reads at 220 on the regular,, I assumed it was a 220 thermostat..
i'm up in Pittsburgh PA. so I don't think the desert is whats causing your bike to run at that temp.
