While this site is primarily for asking questions, and in turn giving answers where subject matter is well known, I figured it was time to talk about things that you all have done to make your bike better, 'cooler', smoother, or more unique ('Mods'). There are threads above for pictures of your style bike as a whole, but don't necessarily focus on specific mods (or accessories) that have been done, let alone what they do or how it was done.
I am the type that wants to continually be tinkering with different looks and functions of things. I realize there probably aren't as many crazy things done to Triumphs as there are other brands that are more widely.. modded (sorry to overuse the word but it is all I can think of that fits).
So please, throw up some pics and or descriptions of 'cool' things you have done to your bikes so we can all see your brilliant ideas!!! (to potentially 'borrow' of course!) Hope everyone enjoys, thanks!

I'll start with a picture of my most recent escapade. I got my rims powder coated gold to get a more (as another member said) 'High-End' look. They turned out great, and they look rather unique with the yellow fairings.

One odd little thing I did for my TT600s, both of 'em, was to lengthen the vent hoses so they exited the bodywork just below the lowers. You have yours routed outside the bodywork for now, and that made me think of it. I did it so the inside of the bodywork would stay just a little cleaner. It worked, more or less. although fling off from the chain made most of the mess. The other things I did to the 2001 were fuel injection experiments. I didn't do very much to the 2000 I got after the 2001 blew up. I probably would have in time, but the 675 came along and I sold it after about a year.

@Will, Interesting, I don't notice much coming out of them as far as getting on the fairings, and my chain needs to be replaced, it isn't holding chain lube at all. It gives it an AVP look imo haha. Don't know much about the 675's other than I'm very jealous of your 'scorched' yellow!

Your chain doesn't need to hold lube. You will know it's good and done when you have to adjust it every 200 miles or less. I'm jealous of my scorched yellow, too! It's far better looking than me.

I really like this Street Triple Ace Cafe special and recently I've been thinking of modding my Speed Four in a similar way.

I always considered the Speed Four as a kind of modern Cafe Racer and was thinking that an LSL single headlamp conversion, along with tan leather seat and brown grips would give it a more 'retro' appearance.

I bodged together a rough visual of how it might look. What do you reckon?

Looks good. It's a great combination of retro and up to the minute, and it's completely different. I like it a lot.

Looks great!!....But if I start tearing into Mrs41's Speed-Four I'm gonna be in heaps of trouble...

Brutilla, looks..... a little more streetfighter than cafe, to me. That is definitely not to say that it looks bad. It looks low profile yet aggressive. As far as cafe..... it isn't old, it isn't air cooled, it doesn't have wire spokes, and it isn't an overall skeleton. However, it is a Triumph. But.... the Thruxton is what embodies the modern cafe racer idea.

Buuuuut I like it. Definitely need the checkers, and heat tape. Get a headlight that has all that terrible scattering pattern whatever in the glass rather than a clear headlight. Get two round pieces of plastic (like cylinder walls) to put around the outside of the gauge cluster to look like an old Speedo and Tach (will also help hide the wires and what not). The brown and tan are nice touches. What would look really good too, is to find retro Triumph decals for the tank, and for the clutch cover (the triangle one). And when you get to the tan seat cover, make sure it has a quilted appearance, like something the queen of England would have on her Triumph! Maybe do some Victorian Style/tribal/pinstripe down the sides of the radiator. And make the coolant reservoir something chrome. Maybe paint your spokes (is that what you call them?) silver and leave the lips black. And get a new aluminum color horn at an auto-parts store and mount it somewhere on the right side off the frame so it can be seen (painfully like the old school bikes).

Just some ideas. Go for it! Good luck!

Well today I got a sticker in, you know, to enhance my bike with that teenager look that stickers give it! But it looks interesting imo, especially considering the p.o. decided to spray paint the windshield black. No tint. Straight black. Yellow......then a giant black spot. So I got this!

It is a Guy Fawkes Silhouette. Not part of OWS, just thought it was, well, interesting.

Also, I solved the fading problem with the Chinese anodizing on the knock-off Pazzo levers sold on eBay. I got them powder coated... In America! Satin black; looks really nice.

Also recently put a rocker switch on the ground wires for the headlight, so that I can wait to complete the headlight circuit until after the starter cut proved troublesome with my HID headlight (also eBay). The ignition process of the ballast was getting interrupted and was causing the headlight to stay off, forcing me to unplug the connector, and replug it in. Too much work haha.

Also just got some black 719 progrips off of eBay. Very comfortable. They have a stock look to them witch is 'clean'. They are completed by some Sato Racing bar ends for some pizazz.
