Ok, I will probably try to contact him in the future, my attempt at loading the 10166 map was a fiasco..... to say the least. ( http://www.triumphrat.net/ecm-and-fi...ion-reset.html)
Do they have a dyno at Cycle Barn that you know of? I am new to all the editing stuff and therefore could not do it myself. And I am assuming I will need access to a dyno (and a professional haha) to help smooth everything out? Thank you very much for the reply.

The very best Triumph dealer in the NW is Cascade Moto in Beaverton,Oregon(suburb of Portland).

Is your SAI box checked or un-checked. I have software version 2.1 and after I downloaded 10166 to replace 10091, I did the whole turn off turn on 10 sec turn off turn on thing and the box that says Reset TPS (which is the same as adaption I think), is un-clickable, it is gray. I let it sit for 25 min. and the box at the bottom didn't turn green either. Also, upon deceleration, it now makes a pop pop pop sound intermittently (under quick engine braking) that it hasn't done before. Is this similar to your experiences? Thanks.

Hey Max, I've actually noticed nothing but good things with the 10166. It doesn't surge nearly as bad under 6k, and I noticed a tad less pull from ~6-8k, but 10166 is a smoother map altogether. So, I wouldn't call what I experience "dying" perse... I don't have SAI either. SAI was for CA emission purposes, and mostly just on CA bikes. the TPS reset has proven to be a pain with a lot of people using TuneECU, and I've spent a lot of time fiddling with it to make sure it happens when I make changes. I even went so far as to buy a duplicate cable to maximize connectivity. I see that you've already touched the EFI Forum in regards to this, so I'll refrain from giving instructions, but yeah, double-click... Is the "popping" sound coming from your exhaust? or is it a dangerous, different type of popping sound? If it's like a normal backfire, it's due to the map, and means you're running a tad lean.

I have heard very good things about Cascade, but they are four hours away or so as opposed to about 30 minutes. Everything is a tradeoff. Cycle Barn used to have a dyno, but they have shrunk a whole lot in the recession. Like everyone else, really. They may still have access.
Surging at idle means the fuel idle trim (CO) is set too low, which leans it out too much.

Ok, good to know. I don't know if it's just me, but it is actually running better. Instead of saving the 10091 map that was on the bike to begin with, I downloaded the 10091 map from the website. I think it might be modified. Shifting isn't as smooth, but the engine seems to be smoother, or maybe I'm just giving it more throttle than usual. I'll have to see how it goes, but it isn't as jerky. The 10166 maps idle fluctuated, but the 10091 has been fine.
