It would be worth taking some pictures of the clutch cable routing (near where it clears the right side radiator bracket) and the chain guide on the 06 and then post them here for everyone to take a look. We've all had lots of experience with these two problems and would be able to see if they've taken care of them. Also get the rear sprocket size off the 06.

Also ask the dealer if the tank fuel fittings are the new style and if the top shock bolt is in the right direction. These were also recall items.

You could tell the dealer that you want to check these items before signing up. He shouldn't object. On the other hand, these problems are all covered under warranty. Is your dealer good about such things?

I'd vote for the S4. Big price difference and it's here now. Like Dave C said, if you like the S4, you might lean more toward a naked. Comparing the S4 to the D675 is like comparing a Honda 599 to a 600RR. One is more of a fun street bike, and the other a more focused track tool. As far as aftermarket support, I've never found that a problem. The bike is pretty much dead on from the dealer floor, and anything you actually need is either available for it or interchanges. You won't find things like a full exhaust for it, but that would be a waste of money anyhow. BTW, I cured the clutch cable problem by switching the turn signal mounting brackets from left to right, which gave the clutch cable more room. No more rubbing!

It gives the cable much more room so it isn't wedged between the radiator mounting bolt and the bracket. It moves the turn signals out a little, but nothing noticeable. I split some wire insulation and glued it to the bottom edge of the bracket as an edge protector. Since it still touches a little, I lube contact areas with a bit of dielectric grease(since it is clear and shouldn't harm rubber) every month or so. I used heat shrink tubing to cover the marks on the old cable. You can turn the bars lock to lock, and the cable just glides right through with no binding or wear.
