I did a little looking around but found no answer. Has anyone come up with a better way to fasten the seat? Pulling up the corner of the seat and wedging in an Allen wrench is fast getting old.

I use an angled allen bit in a screwdriver. It's basically a ball shaped bit designed to allow you get grip from any angle, so you can just keep the screwdriver at 45 degrees odd and twist. I'll try and find a picture of one. I got it in a specialist driver bit set.
What are you removing the seat for? I've only had to remove mine twice in 8 months?
