I regularily read the 600 four section and I now realize nobody really speaks about his maintenance issues.

I believe a lot of them are minor, and just annoyes a couple of days, but this might worth it to get one topic that just list your issues/resolution. The aim is not to discuss about your issue (can be done on another topic), but to know someone had this issue. This might help us a lot!

I propose the below template:

-------------------------------------------------
Problem description (specify milage):

Resolution (specify time to find out or get the back on track)

-------------------------------------------------

Hope it makes sense to you.

Problem description (2200miles): Bike revs dropped down suddently between 0 and 2000 rpm at a stop,light,.. Revs sometimes increased to 4000rpm and decreased again nearly to 0 rpm. Starting the bike sometimes required use of the throttle (as we used do to it on bikes with carbu).

Resolution (15 mins): The sensor of the injection had some trouble . Dealer renewed the cartography of the EC.

Problem description (5900 miles): Gear box tended to be less resiliant to change gears smoothly. Some difficulties from gear 1 to gear 2 without being stucked into the neutral one

Resolution (5 mins): adjustement of the clutch cable. This obviously requires a regular check of the tension.

Problem description (6223miles - After 2nd service): When stucked in the traffic, instruments went down, then lights and signals. A few miles after, bike just broke down and no possibility to start it. Use of a booster allows the bike to start, but does not ensure the bike will keep running.

Resolution (on going): Battery is not charged correctly by the alternator.Issue with the power output coming from the alternator => Alternator changed under warranty.

Well I've had a bit of a "friday" 650
no problems that have actually stopped me riding, but a lot of niggling little faults.

600 miles - Front right brake disk warps, possibly caused by salt buildup from riding through winter. Both disks replaced under warranty.

800 miles - oil leak from sender unit in clutch plate cover. New sender unit replaced under warranty.

1500 miles - clutch sensor is not activating propperly and I couldn't start the bike without holding the clutch half open. After a week or so of head scratching the problem stopps.

3000 miles - 2 bolts drop out of the fairing, odd becuase I'd checked they were tight a month or so earlier. Replacements given FOC by dealer.

3300 miles - the gear change rubber snapps off. New one free from dealer.

3800 miles - two cracks appear on the right side of the rear hugger. New hugger replaced under warranty.

5000 miles - left indicator no longer staying on unless switch held left. New indicator switch replaced under warranty.

So far that's it .. still got my fingers crossed though All faults aside I'd still go and buy another one tomorrow if anything happened to this one (and the 675 was not out yet )
