Hi guys

My 17 year old son is bending my ear about a TT 600. To ride one legally it has to be fitted with a 33bhp restrictor kit. Does such an animal exist for the TT600? Is it a practical idea Has anyone actually ridden a TT with a restrictor? If so was it actually rideable. I mean did you enjoy it ?

Be sure to check with your dealer whether or not the restrictors vary for different years, and I would assume you will also need a different tune.

As to their effectiveness, I don't have a clue. But it seems to me Triumph would do a good job of making the bike work as well as a 34hp bike can work. :wink:

Thanks for this, I checked this out with our local Triumph dealer and yes this restricter really is less than 30 quid. Most jap bikes are around £150. However I can get no info on what a 33bhp TT600 is like to ride. The insurance quote is probably going to kick the idea into touch, as it came out at £1947 for 12 months 3pft. It would have to be a really good ride to justify that, so I'm trying to persuade my son to stick with his 125cc a bit longer.

Don't know if you tried them, but Motor Cycle Direct always gave me the best quote on my TT600 - OK, I'm in my 30's but it's just a thought. However, they did say that they get more revenue from all the Jap bike riders and so they can offer better deals for Triumphs.
Triumph riders are the best!. :-D
