Hi all,
Would somebody be kind enough to tell me the overall length of the forks (fork cap to axle) of the forks used on a TT600 / speed 4?

I didn't get a perfect measurement from the axle to the fork cap. What I got was 775 mm or 30-1/2 in from the very bottom of the fork to the top the cap at the outside edge of the fork leg (ie. not including the thickness of the adjustment nut cast into the top of the cap.) The bike was on its sidestand, the forks were compressed somewhat. Also, the measurement may be a little off due to the tape bending over the various clamps on the upper fork leg. My guess is that the combination of fork below the axle and bent tape will approximately offset the fork's shortening caused by compression.

Putting new forks on your bike? Let me know if you need more accurate information and I will figure out how to do a better measurement. Also, if the axle is the critical dimension, do you want the measurement from top of axle, bottom of axle, or center of axle?

Thanks Will, that should be close enough for now. I am reviewing some options - one of which is to try and fit TT600 forks to my Thunderbird. The aim is mounts for a better braking system, but side effects may include clip ons and possibly even alloy wheels, but this is all very early in the stages of consideration.
