...and it better, for how much it costs.

I finally put it on. I can't imagine why they didn't sell it like this in the first place.

I think I enjoyed my bike more this weekend than I have in the two years I've had it. The change in comfort, to me at least, is monumental, and it's so much easier now to glance over my shoulder to see if the next lane's clear.

I do need to do something about these mirrors, though. Can't see much other than my own elbows.

I didn't use the aluminum bar that came with it, because the instructions told me not to drill it and instead to cut the locator pins off my switch clusters. I just bought a narrower, flatter steel bar from an accessories dealer, drilled it, and put it on instead. Just about perfect.

do you have to drill the top clamp for this mod? If so their may be any easyer/cheaper alternative. I put a pro taper FAT bar on my speed triple and it cost about $100(us) for the bar and mount and grips. I had to drill my stock handle bar mount holes a bit larger and get some spacers to rais the mount a half inch. These are dirt bike parts so you will have to modify or replace the mounting hardware for something shorter. wich for me meant grinding the head of two bolts off round with a falt on one side to fit into the bar mounts.

What comes in the kit? Did you use the stock clutch cable?

Astro-whatever:

No, the kit comes with a set of handlebar clamps that grab onto the fork tubes. No drilling of the top clamp is required.
I didn't want to drill my top clamp. Until I finally broke down and bought the kit, I was also looking for a tt600 or S4 top triple clamp on ebay to grind off the unnecessary bits and drill. The I planned to put the modded top triple on top of the bike's top triple, thus giving me slightly raised tubular bar mounts. I didn't go this route, but it strikes me as a way to build your own without harming your stock clamp.

Banda:

The kit came with:

Ungodly wide LSL aluminum bar,
Bar clamps that grab onto fork tubes,
Spiegler brake line w/adjustment jig and five crush washers, to replace too-short stock line,
Relocation bracket for brake fluid reservoir,
Rather spartan instructions.

It cost me 300 shipped from streetfighters-usa.

I am using the stock clutch cable, though I had to re-route it. I may fiddle with that some more, but the right-angle at the lever end kind of forces me into only a couple of possibilities with my narrow bar. Keep in mind that the bar I added is a bit shorter than the ape-hanger LSL puts in the kit. It's very similar to, say, an '02 Speed Triple bar.

I added a set of bar-end weights for aesthetics, though vibration is no worse than before with the clip-ons.

I still have to clean some things up, though.
