I have an '02 Speed Four and understand that because of the fire that occured at the Triumph factory, only a handful of the 2002 S4s made it into the U.S.. Can anyone verify how many '02s actually arrived in America? Will the fact that only a few pre-fire bikes made it to our shores potentially affect their value positively? Just curious...

I kinda doubt that it will have much effect on resale value. At least for the next thirty years or so...

I don't remember exactly, but the number was absurdly small- something like 200 bikes or less.

IIRC it was approx. 112-119...not to worry, it won't be worth any less than the post-fire bikes...

I have a copy of a test done by Motorcycle Consumer News on the '03 model and in a brief background description they state that 119 Speed Fours were sent to the U.S. in 2002.

They also say there were no differences between the '02 and '03 versions so I suspect the value of the '02 would not be greatly effected unless you found someone with a "first day of issue" type interest.

Outstanding Ned - thanks for the info!! Just a nice tid bit to know when talking about the '02... Makes a good argument (to myself atleast) to support keeping it - value impacted or not.

Thanks to all with your input. Now... I wonder of the 119, how many were BLACK? LOL
