Handle bar swap

Has anyone removed their clip-on handle bars and replaced with a MX style clamp and bars?
If so what brands did you use and did you have to buy longer lines and cables?

Im building a streetfighter out of a salvage Daytona 600. It was free and crashed.

Can you just drill into the top mount and mount up a set of MX style clamps? I have seen it done on gsxr's just wander if someone has done it on a triumph.
thanks
