Fork Height in the Triples

So, I crashed a little while back and replaced my clipons with vortex

I'm trying to find out what the stock height of the forks are in the triples. (Can someone measure from the center of the front axel to the bottom of the triple tree?)

My problem becomes the bike is now pushing the front WAY more often then I feel comfortable with.

So my bigger question becomes... to gain stability in the front I lower the forks in the trees, to gain turn-in I raise them???????????

Essentially yes.

Changing the amount of fork showing above the triple clamps changes the camber (more often known as rake) and the trail. It's the trail that governs how stable the front end is. The more trail there is, the more stable. Less stable = faster turn in.

Sorry but I have no idea what the stock height should be. My bike has been on the race track and worked on by morons that shouldn't be allowed to breed (or breath) before I got it so I have no idea if they're at stock height or not (unlikely).

of course thats only a good measurement with the front wheel off the ground, which alot of people can't do.

I think youre better of with the measurement protruding above the top clamp or lower clamp.

I finally got around to checking...

They protrude 4cm exactly from the top of the top clamp...

or..

26cm from the top of the bottom clamp measured at the tube
