FYI- Stock zx6r zzr600 exhaust won't fit

Just a heads up, I bought a new/stock zx6r 98-02 can on Ebay with the intent of cutting it down and making a diy shorty for my 03 S4. After chopping a bunch of it off, tried a test fit, the factory hanger brackets don't match up. there's about an inch difference. That explains why aftermarket pipes work, they have straps that are adjustable. So, now I have to decide whether to grind off the zx6r bracket and use a strap, or finish the pipe and ebay it to someone with a kawi. thought this might save someone the same trouble.

Ummmm. Right. How about cutting the factory crap off, tuning the muffler is one third and installing an aftermarket strap?

Wasn't it obvious to you that a solid strap might be out of position?

Good info. The hanger that came with my Akropovic wasn't adjustable I don't think. It's carbon fiber and bolted on without a hitch.

Have you considered making a shorty out of a stock S4/TT600 can?

To give IBsellin an idea of what that would look like, here's that on my bike,

Although I don't know if that's as short as what you had in mind though?

Nope....No rattle at all....Theres a factory hanger just behind the faring in the bottom that holds the exhaust pipe from moving or shaking...Of course my pipe is light being carbon and all, might not work for a full length pipe.....
