Calling all 600TT riders! Who looks good?

So It looks like once I get a good oil change and spark plugs replaced the bike should be mechanically in great condition.

I was wanting to start making my 00 600TT more visually pleaseing now. I haven't seen many pictures of this bike customly painted/modded as much as anything else only so I'm looking for some opinions from the rat riders who ride the 600 TT, I have already done tons of patchwork to the body. The previously owner broke just about everything but I managed to get the pieces back together, so much patchwork I just painted it all white for now.

Im new to the forum so its going to take me a while to search around the albums, Anyone want to get some advice? Keep in mind I dont know much about motorcycles but i can figure almost anything out.

Here are a few things I have in mind:

-Paint: Main color white (Used to be yellow), some yellow accents?
-Watching for the seat cowel on ebay/craigslist
-New exhaust (Im a poor college student, Anyone know some cheap options?) my sister gave me her 06 gsxr 600 stock but i don't know if thats a great idea...
-Already filled in the signal lights they were beyond repair

Any opinions would be great, I'm willing to do almost anything to it =)

-Dan

I removed the mirrors, taped everything up, and rode the hell out of it on the track....does that count?

Talking Exhaust Option

DanofTex,

Sounds like you have a good winter project on your hands. I purchased a 2000 TT 600 this summer and the first thing I did was swap out the can/muffler/slip-on(whatever others want to call it). I searched "You Tube" and found that the D&D slip on sounded the best. I then went to ebay and purchased a brand new Carbon Fiber D&D for $250(shipping and taxes incl). It took about 10 mins to install and the instructions said i did not have to re-map. It sounds great and gets alot of attention.

Good Luck with the project.

MIB

To be honest, I've always liked the stock paint job on the 2000 TTs, I don't care for the small stickers under the clear coat near the headlight and on the tail pieces though. The snorkles should be painted to match the side panels.

If I were to do any custom painting I would keep it kind of on the subdued side, remember its not a GSXR.

I've never understood the wild paint jobs like you'd see on a Hayabusa because I don't think you could get enough money to break even if/when you sold it. But thats just my opinion.

Please do what makes you happy and post up the pics when your done.

Yes dave, that counts. and when I feel confident enough (financially and mechanically) I'll be hitting up the tracks asap right now im pretty much stuck to timing how quick i can get to class trying to park before the speed triple does hehe

Thanks mib ill check those out, 250 doesn't sound that bad, really i just think the stock can kinda sticks out like a sour thumb, id rather make it more subtle without changing anything else performance wise, but that would be a plus. probably just end up with some kinda of sleeve over it, keep the gf from getting burned maybe.

ya kubbie so did I but like said it was banged up pretty bad. I agree about the crazy paint jobs you see rolling around don't really see a point to that either, I'm actually loving the 03 silver look which is why ill probably just find the original decals online somewhere and keep it white. and i see what you mean about the snorkels good point.

problem with keeping it white is that i don't want to touch the gas tank, and the triumph on it is the original yellow so I wanted to try and make that fit.
thanks guys

Go for it! Everyone who owns a sport bike should find an opportunity to ride on the track. Skill level is not that important, it's just a blast to ride like that.

Track is only one letter away from crack. Remember it, because it's just as addictive, especially on a really great track bike like a TT600 or S4.

I swapped out my stock silver wheels for black S4 wheels and put yellow rim tape on 'em. Looks a lot better in my opinion.
