Replacing ignition

I'm rebuilding my S4 after a crash several months ago. I found a 2002 ignition on ebay. I checked the part numbers on Bike Bandit, but they don't list the 2002 S4; only the 03-06. The part number for my '04 matches the '03. Do you know or think the '02 is the same as well?

Thanks,
Eric

The registration number '02 year is the '03 model year.

Your bike is an '03 for model year. I know it's confusing you can blame the americans. I don't believe the ignitions were changed throughout the whole run so any year should be fine (check part numbers though)

There are a few 2002 S4s around, but they are rare because the production line was shut down due to the fire. Most are 2003 or later model year bikes, but all the parts are the same.

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon.
