05 Daytona 650 electrical issues HELP
Ok, like I said 2005 Daytona 650.
It developed a charging issue one day. Idle battery volts were 12.5 to 13.1 when you reved up to 5k it would drop to 11,8-12 so checked AC volts on stator. all three legs 35-38 idle up to 55-60 at higher rpms. all within a volt of each other. so replaced voltage regulator. everything seems fine, bike running ok, gauges start to flash off and on, speed, rpm gauge stops working, etc. dies when I stop. I shut it off, go to start battery sounds weak, starter is slow turning, very slow, take a second then spins perfect fires up, everything good. next stop, shut it off go to fire hour later turn key on, no cycling of tach, has the normal noises, but no cycling of tach, slow starter turning, had to push start. get to shop check battery volts, 12.6 but running it drops to 11.8-12. think battery, replaced, twice now. replaced 3 voltage regulators, 2 stators. now even worse and check engine light came on finally, was never on before, came on low voltage was what it read, heat cycled with new battery all good, as it heated up it started to do it again, unplugged gauges, plugged back in, fine for 5 or 6 starts, then slow starter, gauges flash, wont hold a charge. Any ideas? right now stator (heated) reads perfect AC volts, battery is charging normal but still having starter and gauge lights. CPU toast?
