TT600 Speedometer broken

Hey guys

The speedometer on my bike is not working. It ususaly shows no speed sometimes it can tick up to random numbers. Its not the cables ive checked so they are well conected, cleaned the connectors out and used "connector spray" on em.

Im assuming that its the speedsensor(that the correct word for it? direct translation from swedish would be "giver") by the wheel that needs to be replaced.

Any ideas where i can get hold of em? Here they cost around 240USD here and that feels like a bit much.

They are expensive new. Several members have repaired them or made new ones using magnets and a machined steel ring.

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon.

Yes i saw that solution, problem is that it would be illegal here to do that, we have to send in the bikes every 24 months for an inspection to check out if everything on the bike is working and in legal road condition. That fix would unfurtanetly get the bike banned from road use untill fixed :/

I realize this is an older post, but when you're speedo broke, did it still give you a speed when it was moving? If my tt600 is in motion, it always gives me a number, though it's usually like 20 mph when I'm driving 60 mph. Is this similar?

is yours giving complete random numbers? Mine is steady...if i'm doing mid 30s, it'll usually say about 8 or 9. And slowly increase. It doesn't give random numbers like 40 58 23 12. Just wanted to make sure that this is what everyone's was doing, before i bought a $200 part
