Question 2001 TT600 Oil Light ?

For past few months the OIL light comes on as normal when I start the bike, but then
stays on for 1-2 mins...use to go off soon as you shifted in gear and took off...

I checked the oil level (with the bike level) and it is on the high side...little over the max line...

Everything seems to be okay, bike runs at 81c-82c, so not over heating...

Thanx!

No, turns off after 1-2 mins...

OIL light and the flashing oil sign on the LCD turn off after 1-2 mins of riding...

It sounds like either the connection at the oil pressure switch is bad (lower right side of engine) or the switch itself is bad. I'd have a look at the connection first, and then go from there.

Oil Pressure Sensor Switch

Mine was doing the opposite for a long time - the light would be off after starting, but then turn on after about thirty minutes of riding. Wasn't over heating, the oil level was fine, and the oil pressure was normal. Cost me about 50 bucks for a new sensor switch (that BombFactory mentioned) and the problem went away immediately.
