Low idle speed

Hey guys, I have a couple questions for you. I just finished replacing the hoses that connect the throttle bodies to the idle control valve on my TT. The rubber connectors were split clean in half.

The first question is: The hoses on the control valve are lined up side-by-side, do they connect to the throttle bodies straight across 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, and 4-4?

Question #2: After repairing the hoses, moved nothing else, the idle is now @ 500rpm (way too low) can I turn up the idle speed w/ the throttle stop screw or do I have to take it to the dealer to have it adjusted with their computer.

And the Tuneboy is out of the question, I want one but not until work picks up.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I sure understand about how slow the work situation is.

I wouldn't use the screws for idle adjustments, since the throttle position sensor would likely just defeat your adjustment. Best to do it electronically.

It's been so long since I had a TT600 I'm going to have to pass on your other questions, since anything I tell you would likely be wrong anyway.

idle

You will have to go see the dealer to have the adaptive stepper and tps reset. The bike adapted to the air leaks, and unless you ride it quite awhile it will not idle properly and may stall.

I agree you need to reset the TPS and to not use the throttle stop for adjustment, but the idle stepper has no reset capability--only the TPS. If the idle is still off once the closed throttle position is reset, the CO setting could be out of adjustment or the stepper motor could be malfunctioning. I recently had a motor go bad which caused lower idle rpm's at cold starts.

very unusual to be low

Definitely do not adjust with the throttle stop
Throttles should be closed, all air should be supplied by bypass ports off the ISCV

Regardless of TPS and trims (which control the fuel, not the air) the ISCV should open up to give enough air in the bypass ports to run at the correct rpm.

But TT600 has no O2 sensor, so there are no trims for fuel/air ratio.
As BF says, only CO - but this cannot 'go off' just because the bike has been leaking air through cracked hoses.

The ECM will be trying to open the ISCV wide open, since the rpm is low, which says that somehow it is not passing enough air.

Sounds like you have something wrong with your plumbing ..... err the idle control plumbing.
Are you confident that you have the input to the ISCV off the correct portin airbox and that there is no blockage? Pull hose off input side of ISCV & see what happens.
If no different, pull each of the output hoses off the ISCV and see what effect it has.
Bottom line is it's not getting enough air.

If you pull output hoses off and RPM goes up, either you have blockage or valve is bad.

Quik update:

I'm sure the ICV (the octopus on cylinder bank behind #1 cylinder) is plumbed correctly, but just to make sure the hose on the far left ( sitting on the bike of course) goes to cyl#1 intake port. The 2nd hose goes to cyl#2 and so forth and so on. Right!?

But I found what I'm pretty sure was the problem. Cyl#1 spark plug was completely under water. The was low because it was dragging a partially dead cylinder. At anything over 3000 rpm ran perfectly fine below that it almost sounded like it was using staging rev limiter, just really low. I'll try to send a pic. If not tell me what I did wrong.
