I have used 010s since hte bike was new. Brilliant grip. BUT I get 3000ml per rear & 4000 per front so I am probably wasting rubber.

You'll never get a straight answer pal!!!!
One mans sticky rubber :smug: is another mans slippery nightmare :clown:

The closest you'll get to general consensus is 120/70 at the front 180/55 at the back and 17 inch rims........

I've had 010's which lasted 4K+ and now have Sportec's. Used the 010 on the track and they were fine, hope to try the Sportec's out on the track next month.

I generally find the tyre shoot outs they have in the mags a complete waste of time as I'm never gonna work them as hard as the reviewers on the track and tbh I'm more interested with how the tyre reacts to hitting a wet manhole cover mid corner :-x

What sort of riding are you doing? If you do loads of motorway miles then go for a harder sports touring tyre, if you are more likely to be riding on back roads and occasional track days then pick softer supersport compound.

Good luck!

I have the Continental Road Attacks right now. They have all the grip a sane person needs on the street. They are wearing pretty good too. I have about 4000 miles on them and there is still a fair amount of tread left. Great price too.

I use Bridgestone 010s too, have done just over 3k on the bike and the rear still has plenty of life left in it. ONe option maybe to try a 020 on the rear? Not so grippy as an 010 but should last longer, but all depends on how you ride and how many miles you want to get out of a tyre?

Like Rik said, you'll get 10 different answers if you ask 10 different riders. I've got 010's on my TT, and they seem pretty sticky. I've heard nothing but good things about Michelin Pilot Sports, so I may slap one of those on the front as it needs to go in the next 1K miles. Not sure about different brands front/rear, but we'll see.

Big no no when it comes to mixing brands :-x

I know tyres/tires ain't cheap so if you can only afford to replace one, then stick the same type back on.
If you mix brands then you may well have 2 very different profiles which will give you all sorts of wierd handling probs.

I know people sometimes mix tyres from the same brand with the stickier one up front (ie 010 front 020 rear) but I have never tried it as i'd much rather have tyres that are matched to work together and share similar grip levels and profiles.

Then again, if you are some sort of riding God then you can probably stick any old ***** on it and still out-ride me :thump:

I am very happy with Pirelli Diablos for street tires.

Has anyone tried the Diable Stradas? I have heard rave reviews about the Diablos... But I'm more often than not using the bike as a commuter tool, so the longer wear is attractive...
