Heavy bar ends help to reduce any vibration the bars may pick up.

Not tried it on the S4, but on my diversion riding without the bar ends gives me pins and needles after about 10 mins.

Not sure about Triumph, but IIRC all Yamaha (and I believe most makes) use a standard thread. You just have to choose the size and weight of the rest of it.

My S4 has Sky King bar end mirrors necessitating the removal of the weighted bar ends. They were there for a good reason - VIBRATION!

I can go about 90 minutes then my hands start to feel like they're hooked to rubber bands. Not a pleasant experience on long rides.

I'm considering GEL grips, but if anyone has a better solution, let me know.

How about using the Skyking bar end mirrors that retain the stock end weights?

Catenaccio, I remember reading a long-term test on a Kawa Z1000, and they said the bar vibration was terrible. What they did to fix it was pack the handlebar with steel shot.

I don't know exactly how you would do it, but I imagine if you could find some way to fill the clip-ons with some sort of weight, (shot, BBs, sand, etc...) you could get rid of the vibration.

In the old days...back when I was a lad...I had friends that filled the handlebars with lead they'd melted down themselves. Shot might work if I can contain it. Thanks for the advice!

The question is, so what? On *any* motorcycle heavy bar-end weights reduce handlebar vibration. Sure, you might be able to save a few ounces with lighter weights, but BFD. A few ounces are not going to make you a faster rider. You will not notice the weight loss, but you will notice the added vibes.

If you have converted to tubular handlebars, you can install a barsnake. Its a heavy piece of rubber that soaks up vibes. They use them off road a lot. Google it if you care.

The reason you find yourself sitting on your nuts is that they're overly large.
