I heard some knocking in the back of my bike as I was slowing. I just had the rear brake pads replaced by a local bike shop (a chopper shop, not triumph dealership). My rear brake caliper seems to wiggle a bit when I try to move it with my hand. Should it be rock solid tight or is there some play? Thanks.

it should wiggle just a little bit. Most motorcycle brakes are like that. Check the bolts that hold the caliper to the bracket.

If I remember right, the caliper floats on the rear brake. The front rotors float. As Aries points out, it's normal. The float is there to deal with expansion and contraction issues as the disk heats up. Without float, it would pulse as the disk warps and unwarps due to heat.

Agreed. After checking the bolts, take a look at your chain. Maybe the shop didn't get it adjusted tight enough.
