Bike Bandit

I need a new rear brake light switch, which I ordered two months ago from Bike Bandit. I added two small parts to the order, but the main thing was the switch.

I received the $8 worth of small parts and was billed for them and the $7.95 shipping fee, with a note that this was a partial shipment. That was the last I heard from BB.

When I checked my order on-line a few days ago, I found out that the brake light switch was cancelled without explanation. I was never notified of this.

This is less than acceptable service. It's the first time that this has happened to me with Bike Bandit. From now on, I'll order my Triumph parts elsewhere.

I called Baxter Cycle, they have the switch in stock, and I should have it in a few days. That's much better.

Unhappy

I ordered some KTM SuperDuke mirrors and some adapters that attach the mirrors to the mounts for my Speed Triple a little over 2 weeks ago from Bike Bandit. I got confirmation and everything, and then the next day I got an email saying the parts were on backorder and the order would be canceld in 30 days if they didn't receive the stuff. This means I can't go try to find it elsewhere and I am forced to wait for BikeBandit. So then almost 2 weeks later, I get notice that the mirrors have shipped but not the adapters. No idea when or if the adapters will ever be sent, which means I can't mount the mirrors. Of course, if I can't get the adapters, I don't need the mirrors, but I have already paid for the adapters so I just have to wait.

How hard is it to have an inventory system where you notify customers whether you have something BEFORE they have ordered it? And now, I have essentially "aftermarket" mirrors coming for my bike that I can't mount because they aren't sending the adapters. They are either completely out of touch with their customers' needs or they don't care as long as they make a buck.

Yes, it's annoying. Now I have to pay the shipping again to get the part I was after.

It would be better if they'd notify us and give us an option to consolidate the order. In other words, send a partial or wait until all the parts are in, or cancel the whole thing otherwise.

With computer systems, there's no reason they couldn't do this, but it would probably make their inventory system more complicated for them, i.e. they'd wind up with parts they don't want.

This happens to me alot too. Both the Triumph dealer did to me on a new front mud guard, and now British Customs is doing it.

I ordered alot of parts at the same time, but they haven't shipped any yet. After several weeks I sent them a status inquiry using the online form (no email address for them even with orders) and they said that some of the parts are on back order for an unknown time. They also said they would only ship partial orders if I paid a split shipping fee.

This is the second time I've tried to order a front mud guard that wound up being backordered. When I order them there is no indication that they aren't in stock. Of course, none of these businesses have any qualms about taking payment from the start.

I've never had a problem with New Bonneville, though.

Good move; I've never had a problem with Baxter. They always ship parts for my 1996 S3 promptly.

Same thing happened to me. I ordered a front spoiler kit as a main item & also ordered a $3 tool. Well, they shipped the inexpensive tool (that was an add-on to the main order) and charged the higher ship rate for a $3 item that weighed under 2 oz. I sent customer service a message about this and they reversed the shipping charge.
