Just got an email from Machines in Motion, (aka Triumph of North Georgia in Cumming, Georgia) that they are closing the dealership. They had extensively remodeled the place this past year and I believe had sold more Triumphs in 2007 than any other dealer.
Maybe some of you might find a bargain.
Here's the info, sorry I couldn't figure out how to reformat the indented schedule that was included:

Machines In Motion has closed its operations. We have elected not to re-open for normal business following the summer holiday. Given my health, the stress, economy, and general condition of the industry, it is in both my , and my families best interest to close the dealership.

We would like to thank everyone for the support over the years. We will open at 9:00 a.m. Saturday July 12th for liquidation sale. We intend to continue through the following weekend.

Everything must be sold including bikes, parts, accessories, and apparel. The trucks, trailers, tools, fixtures, and equipment will also be sold.

Our hours will be:

Saturday ]July 12th 9:00am to 5:00pm
Sunday July 13th 1:00pm to 5:00pm
Monday ]July 14th 10:00am to 6:00pm
Tuesday July 15th to
Friday July 18th 10:00am to 6:00pm
Saturday July 19th 9:00am to 6:00pm


I will be sending out more details later this week about where to get you bikes serviced, and other details as I become aware of them.

Just got my e-mail too...has me thinking I'm going to be sick. Just went through this same B.S. 3 years ago with Moto Britalia in this same area. I am sticking with Triumph if I have to ride down to Atlanta and probably get killed doing it ; but for Christs sake can't someone who is really a Triumph / Motorcycle lover pick up my beloved marque in this area. Sure I will go up and pleasantly shake their hands and wish them the best while looking for a bargain because they are nice folks. But please God send us someone who is in this for the long haul next time. Just my 2 1/2 cents worth.

Guess I should have waited to get my Scrambler next week! Just got it on the 1st. Will have to keep on them to get my $1000 goodie order!
I agree this area should be able to support a Triumph dealer. That's two we have lost in the last few years.

Funny I caught this on another forum, only to realize this sutuation was posted on this site first. I still don't know really anyone on this forum from the Cumming area so I am kind of still fishing around. Like I said on the other forum this closing sux in my opinion because I like the folks over there, they always treated me well. Just looking at what they had I thought they were doing a rather good business. Well that leaves us triumph riders with really only two choices that are rather close buy that is Atlanta Triumph Ducati and Free Wheelin Honda in Douglasville who is also a Triumph dealer. Not a good show to say the least.

Since you've all spoken positively about this dealer, tell me what made it a "good" dealer in your own opinions.

They made the customer feel welcome the moment they walked into the dealership. The employees listened to what you as a customer had to say. They did their best to accomedate (sp?) you. They believed the customer was right. They backed up their work. And all the employees that I personally dealt with seemed to be there for the long haul, loved working with and on Triumph motorcycles. I only wish more dealerships were like that. Bill and all the other employees really have something of which to be proud.
