So I walk into my dealer last night and they have three 05 Sprints (all silver) and two 05 Speed Triples (Bronze and Blue) on the floor.

The Sprint looks better to me in the flesh than in the shots I'd seen of it in MCN... very sporty and angular, and very together. Nice. I'd like to see it in another colour though, the silver is a bit nondescript in my humble opinion. I don't know what colours they come in, but I think red would look good... I love the new 650 in that colour.

The S3 looks tiny. Ducati Monster tiny. Sitting on it reveales a high hard seat (sorry, don't know how that compares with the old one). It feels like a stoppy little git, and the visual effect is of a very short bike...

Do I like them?... Oh yes. The Sprint makes most sense for me... but I can see the desirability in the S3. Will I buy one? Doubt it. New bikes don't make much financial sense to me when good second hand ones are so cheap.

Stu, any chance of sitting on the ST? With a normal size passenger behind you (5'4" or so of lady)? I'm interested in passenger comfort, too. Where are the rear footpegs setting? High? Are there any provisions for dropping the rear pegs so the passenger doesn't have her knees around her ears?

Hi

I did sit on the ST, but wasn't looking specifically at the things you mention. It's a roomy position, the pillion seat seems quite a bit higher, but looks comfortable.

The bike feels great... I might have been tempted if they were actually for sale...

I've been offered a demo ride next Sunday... but I'm actually looking at a new 04 RS for under 2/3 of the price...

Hey Trophy4, I have an 05 ST in stock if you want to take a nice ride through Cheeha to come see us.
I should receive a Demo any day.

I'm hoping to get my chance to sit on an ST soon, maybe when I'm in Little Rock next week.

I just happen to have a wife who enjoys riding long distances with me, and I enjoy having her with me. If she's not comfortable riding, I'm not having a good time!

Simple, isn't it?
