Delivery date? How?
I put a deposit on a new 08 Street Triple that is supposed to be delivered to my dealer during the month of April. They are supposed to receive 3 and so far got 2 (mine is the 3rd). Ive been hearing alot that dealer orders have been cut short by Triumph and thats making me nervous. Where I live, they are really hard to come by and I want to know if its going to come or not, and when! If i have to start looking for another i obviously want to know soon.

*Important to mention that I did ask my dealer and they said they have no clue! They called and left a message to Triumph to find out more info and told me it takes a week for them to get back to you. Its been over 1 week and they still dont know anything. All they know is that its supposed to come in April but might not come at all. great...

So I want to find out somehow on my own. I dont know if this is possible but its torture to just wait around for a bike that no one knows is even shipped or anything.. If the bike is supposed to be delivered this month, then it must be en route to somewhere from overseas. Has to be a tracking number on this thing or the dealer should have an order number or something. Just so bizarre how my Triumph purchasing experience has been going. Other dealers selling other brands know what and when is coming to their lot. If something is destined for your dealership, you must have accurate info so you know what you have to offer to your customers!!

Anyways, sorry for the rant. Ive just fallen hard for this bike and im being teased to no end. Thanks!

This has pretty much been done to death in the Street Triple forum.

No, dealers who did not previously have firm customer orders for these bikes have no guarantee of receiving any 2008s at all now. This is a model that Triumph announced very clearly last year would only be made in limited quantities, and that last summer's advance reservation program had priority over all other orders, including the usual dealer allotments.

They had no intention of making the Street their latest, hottest new product in its first year, for whatever reasons of their own. No point wishing otherwise. Whether there will be more 2009s or not, nobody yet knows.

Ask your dealer to pull up his inventory/order page on Triumph Online. If the Street Triple remaining on order is listed as "confirmed", you will get the bike at some point. If it is listed as "VIN allocated", the bike is coming soon. If it is listed as "unconfirmed", unfortunately Triumph has told the dealers that anything listed as unconfirmed at this point will not be filled. As to my knowledge every single Street Triple has been shipped out, and no more are coming into the country, I would infer that you are not going to get your bike. Sorry for your loss.
