Rant about a local Triumph dealer
March 14th, 2008...I called the local dealer and set up a much needed service appt for March 21st, 2008 to get a full 12K service and to get new tires, brakes, chain, and sprockets installed.I get excited and I think to myself...cool, now I can make that 400 mile trip on April 11th.

March 21st, 2008...I show up at the dealer to get service done, wait about 45 mins, then the mechanic then comes out to tell me they don't have the parts they need to complete the 12k service...so I set up a new appt for the following Friday (March 28th) and they assure me they are going to order all my parts. The service manager even tells me he will cut the labor in half to make up for me making a 45 min trip and taking the day off from work.

March 27th, 2008...I call to follow up and confirm my appt the next day (28th) and to make sure all the parts have come in...turns out...they didn't even order the parts...@$#%!...so the service manager states he will fix it and get the parts ordered. He apologized and assures me that he will call me back that day to let me know what is going on and to set up a new appt...I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM HIM!!!! Its April 1st now

Well, I guess its there loss (I'll give someone else my money)...luckily the next dealer is only an hour and a half away and I have heard only good things about them, we will see.

Has anyone else had crappy experiences with their dealer?

D

Wow, You being in the triad area I can guess which dealer you're talking about. I'm shocked because I buy all my bikes and parts there and have never had a problem, In fact , I drive there instead of the dealer here in Charlotte because of the super service I've always received there. Guess any dealer can have a bad day.

I moved this to the Dealer area as it is more appropriate so other triumph brand owners can see the rant.

Yeah, my local Triumph Dealer, South Bay Triumph, sucks too...

I drive 20 miles further to go somewhere else...

I have heard that Triumph is big on customer service, have any of you w/ poor experience called Triumph in GA to voice your concerns. Might be beneficial if it improves the actions of your local dealer/service. Enough calls to Triumph might get them involved at the local dealer level to seek improvement

Triumph of Reno
I am no where near the 12K mark yet, but the Yuell Brothers in Reno are pretty good guys and no how to take care of their customers for anyone nearby.

I live 2 miles from my nearest Triumph dealer, MCS in Glasgow. I tried going there with my Triumph for service work and to get the repairs done when i binned it one frosty Scottish spring morning.

Now i drive some 45-55 miles to a dealer at the opposite side of Ediburgh.

I could go into a 15 page rant on the incompetencies and lies in their handling of the repair work to my bike, but i wont.

I also wont write a list of all the similar stories i got from other riders i met on my frequent trips to the shop over the 5 months it took to get the (minor) damage repaired.

Lets just say i would drive 500 miles rather than give my business to MCS.

Jamie.
