Buyer Beware www.ridegear.com

FYI, bought a Moto GP Corkscrew jacket from ridegear.
http://www.ridegear.com/rg/item/F-27...ew-Jacket.html
Nowhere on this page is it listed as a womans jacket and you can access this page from the jackets section, not womans jackets. I got the jacket and it is a womans medium. I have called ridegear more than 6 times and you cannot get a human. I have e-mailed several times and the only reply I recived other than the auto reply was after my third e-mail someone was kind enough to e-mail me back with the tracking #. In my e-mail the subject line read "wrong item shipped order # XXXXXX." How in the world they thought I needed the tracking # is beyond me as it would be hard for me to know it was the wrong item without having received it.

I have since searched google by " ridegear complaint" and found they do not respond to complaints.

I can sell the jacket on e-bay and make money as it is a very nice jacket, 360 degree zip for pants full CE armour etc and only paid $130 but thats a hassle.

If it sounds too good to be true............I will not be sending them any more of my coin

Paid w/ CC?

If you paid with a credit card, call customer service IMMEDIATELY and protest it. Explain that you have received no response from the company to resolve the error. You may or may not be successful in disputing the transaction, but it will wake them up.

Thumbs down Ridegear

I have had a similar problem. Called more than twenty time. Sometimes just an instant busy signal, others, just ring and ring, plus two with recordings. Did final get someone. Seven emails and no response over three weeks.

When I did finally get someone, got a return auth number. They received the shipment on the 16th, two days ago, for an exchange. Waiting to see what happens. But will not do buiness with them again, regardless of price ice.

Not to dispute others' experiences, merely to add mine to the mix, but I've had good success with Ridegear. Then again, I've never received the wrong item nor had to return anything. Sorry to hear of others' misfortunes.

I think that I had a puchase about two years ago with ridegear that was without incident, but phone lines busyed out, no response to emails, etc now.

When did you last deal with them? I think they are showing signs of major internal problems now and may be closed soon!

Nothing more frustrating than non response w/complaint or return. What are you supposed to do if the size is wrong?

I would recommend new enough I have bought gear from them that didn't fit and had no problems exchanging or returning.

The only experience I have with RideGear was an order for 2 of their blowout items. I placed the order and about 3 days later I got a notice that 1 of the items was out of stock, and since it was a blowout item, they were not billing, nor shipping, but the other item would ship soon. About a week after that I got another notice that they were out of stock on the other item so the order was cancelled.

Ended up buying the stuff from Dennis Kirk Closeout's and had no problem with them.

My google research showed what seems to be the same thing, recently they are not doing too well. I wish them well I guess, ... or not. I was gonna call my bank and start an investigation but then the dern jacket will be in limbo. As it is I am pressy sure I can recoup my coin off Ebay and move on as a learning experiance. LAst time I got had a company closed after taking my money. Bank gave me the money back instantly and started an investigation. Two months later they sent me a letter stating the investigation led them to conclude my claim was just and the refund stayed in my account. That was Bank of America, not sure about other banks but that was painless.

I want to drive out to Santa Cruz and talk to these folks but the gas would be a lot more than the jacket.

I too ordered from them on an order that was "in Stock". I sent several emails, one from my law firm address. They sent an automated response only. I never received the confirm, but my bags did show up. I wish I had checked their rating first. It is one of the worse I have ever seen.
