Dealer Problems?
When I bought my 07 Thruxton last May my sales person did not know ANYTHING about the "Truck-ston" so I had to tell him how to sell me the bike. Even after I told him the bike was called a "Thruxton" is was still a "Truck-ston" to him. He also informed me it was liquid cooled! "See, here is the radiator" as he pointed to the oil cooler. Oil is a liquid I guess. On my test ride when I returned and the pipes had blued and he tried to wipe off the bluing on the hot pipe with a synthetic rag which melted to my pipe. Great. After my purchase my headlight bulb kept burning out and my fork seal blew and I had them repaired under warranty, no problem. But when I got my bike back there was grease all over my fork leg and rim I had to wipe off before I left and later on I discovered that my headlight assembly was never re assembled properly. Now that my high beam blue light is no longer working I'm not sure if I trust my dealer to fix it under warranty.

Dude - I feel ya.
Although most of my dealer experiences have been relatively good, I have never really felt like a priority in any buyer / seller relationship concerning vehicles.
Granted I look like I just rolled of a tour bus, seems like the old dudes get the respect.
I love watching my old man in action, he's like an arab trader.

My first reaction reading this is "so why on earth did he decide to buy the bike from this dealer?" Was that dealer the only option near you, only they had the Thruxton you wanted, or what?
Here in Phoenix I tried two different dealers - the first because their website looked better. That was deceiving - the salesman who talked to me about Bonnevilles could barely articulate anything about the machines, didn't know basic specs, and actually sort of ran away from me after being unable to answer most of my questions. The other dealer was great, and that's who I bought from.

Fresno Triumph
Fresno is the only dealer with in a few hundred miles and I have never heard anything good about this place but they had the Red Thruxton I wanted and so it was a "must have" buy. I dont regret it at all because the bike is very reliable and if I have any big problems I'll truck it to San Jose or LA. I spoke to the sales person again who sold me the bike and I think he did some reading after I spoke with him about the bikes he sells because he was able to ask me some good questions about the bike.

My closest dealer is 200 miles away, so that is where I decided to take my bonneville after i had bought it from somewhere else. The cam cover gasket was leaking, so I had them replace it along with a 18t sprocket and an oil change. Not only did it take 2 weeks for them to get a gasket, but they also put a scratch in my tank and took a chunk out of the paint on the cam cover. Last time my bike goes there.

Triumph makes a quality- reliable product!! However they allow shade-tree type people sell them!! Usually its "We sell XXX & we also have some Triumphs" . Out of warranty hwere so its no problem! Never went back t othe ddealer since they delivetred it. Triumphs are quite different than any other bikes, & require someone w/ knowledge accordingly!

There are several Triumph dealers in the Los Angeles area (about 200 miles from Lemoore) some of which employ skilled sales people as well as mechanics. South Bay Triumph comes to mind, as does Southern California Triumph. You may wish to work on your geography/map reading skills while brushing up on spelling.

Man you guys have got it bad out there. My Dealer is a true triumph dealer they sit out in the front row next to the door first thing you see and the suzukis are in the back behind them. The head mechanic is a Certified Triumph super wrench and comes out to discuss any problems which you have. I feel like in the little state of Delaware we have the best. Case in point I had a right side stock mirror on my 07 had a scratch on the chrome I didn't care because I wanted bar ends but they ordered a new one after they saw it before delivery. If you take your bike in for warranty they ask if you need anything else looked at because its a warranty call its free at that point. I had some grease melting off the jugs during the open house I rode up for the afternoon to hang out the service manager spotted the grease and took my bike in the shop and cleaned the engine for me at no cost. I would be upset if I had to take my bike into your dealers. I guess L&D Suzuki and Triumph really rocks.

Let's try to keep this on topic and cut out the personal advice. Thanks.
