I bought mine new two months ago from Total Triumph in Taunton [UK] and so far so good in 1200 miles. The hand-over was conducted properly, the bike was clean and shiney and a week after the dealer 'phoned me to ask if every was OK. The only downside is that corrosion has appeared on the front hub around the spoke holes

Triumph build quality and quality control is much better than Harley Davidson!

Sorry, guys, but we've been asked to put dealer comments, good and bad, in the dealers forum, so this will go there. I will leave a permanent link here because I think it is a good topic and useful discussion and you will be able to follow it there.

about to go and pick my bonnie up from the dealer tomorrow. pickup coil finally diagnosed as the problem ive been having for the past 4mths and 6 dealer visits later. But the bike has been with the dealer this time since 4TH OCT. Took them a week to test the part we had spoken on the phone about many times, and then a stonking 4 weeks!! for the triumph importer in aus to get the part from god knows where.

hoping now that this has been the cause of my poor running issues all along. It may also prove that a simple but s hit part pales next to poor australian service which is the main thing stopping triumph from doing really well here. Mine is a common story.

Of course, just like any co-dependent idiot whose been cheated upon time after time, if the bonnie says all the right things tomorrow on the ride home, all its indiscretions will be forgiven in a heart beat....

When I picked up my Bonnie in Aug of 06 it was fully prepped, washed and had 8 miles of road test on the speedo. Tod took the time to go over every inch of the bike with me and my son before they turned it over to me. Whenever I bring it in to have mods done I get the bike back cleaner than I bring it in. The only problem I have had in the last 5200 miles is a weeping cam cover which was fixed under warranty, when I brought my bike in for the 6000 mile service early because of the leak. They even let me use a demo Bonnie overnight till my bike was serviced.
I deal with Myers of Asheville NC great people treat you like family

Well, it's now been several months since I took delivery, and I felt it was time for a update. The dealer I had the initial problems with got one more stab at my business, when I had a cold start problem after getting it back again. It would take 8-10 times of starting it and it would die each time with the choke on, before it would finally start and idle.

Took it to another local dealer (lucky to have several in the area) and it was diagnosed as being crud in the carb choke hole, which was cleaned out. Everything has been great since. The only problem is the first dealer had replaced the tank as a result of the lining coming off and getting into the carbs, which is why it initially didn't run when I went to take delivery. Now obviously if they replaced the tank because the lining was coming loose and finding it's way into the carbs, they really should have run it to make sure everything was good, which they obviously didn't do. I'm just glad the other dealer found and corrected the problem. And as I said, she starts and runs great since that day.

Needless to say, the first dealer will no longer get my service business, and most likely no other business from me in the forseeable future.
