1500cc Parallel Twin TBA in July 2008

According to the OP at this forum (link included), the
USA Triumph Dealers Meeting the other weekend had
a near riot, so to speak, after being told the new Big
Twin won't be announced until July 2008:

Frankly, I think he's being more than a little melodramatic, as are some of the other posters in that thread. A near-riot over a "delay" in a product that they've never previously more than hinted to the dealers as being in development? Naaah. And the supposed reasons for the delay? Not very realistic either. The first hint most dealers had about a big twin was late last winter, and even then it was projected as a 2009 model. Anything more than that is people's own fantasies.

I suppose the good news is that there is going to be the Super Twin after all. It seems fairly certain that the bike is coming, so it gives us something to look forward to. I've been kicking around getting another bike since I crashed the Daytona and may wait until this model is released. Hopefully the Triumph marketing people do as good a job with it as they have done with the Street Triple, and the engineering continues the excellence we've seen with Triumphs bikes throughout the years. Can't wait!

Got tired of waiting and picked up a left over 06 Tiger.

Will run it for a couple of years than see what Triumph has out at that time.

While driving back from the International Motorcycle Show in Ft Worth Texas, I saw a Large 18 Wheeler with "Triumph" all over it and a rear lift up as high as it could go with a large bike on it at "Eurosports".
So I u-turned and and came back to Riverside and it was the Triumph Demo team and 4 of the New Rocket III tourer's. The Bikes we beautiful! All the colors were represented. These were Demos that the press used in San Antonio and although we could sit on them, start them we couldn't ride them.
They sit different, and have all the amenities such as quick release removeable Windshields, Racks and Sissy bars, Bags and a full fledged electronic computer within the Speedo, Fuel guage area. Self canceling blinkers, cruise control, and a sweet looking quick release fly screen. Everything that I would like to have on the bike except the dual headlights. the rep said that they couldn't configure the quick release parts with those lights so they made the switch.
Much better than the magazine and apperantly these are of 8 that are in the states. After a long conversation with the rep and mentioning that I had the last year T-Bird. He said Oh don't worry the "Thunderbird will soon live again,...it just won't be a triple, or a chain drive." He then stopped and said he spoke to soon and wouldn't crack on more information. Maybe this will be the long awaited 1500+ thats been rumored.
