Memphis Dealer

I hate for my first post on this forum to be one of mixed "feelings" towards my beloved Speed Triple. But, just in case there are others in the Memphis Community that are seeking help with their Triumphs I have some hope.

I have been to the Dealer (Triumph of Memphis) 7 yes (seven) times now in 2 1/2 weeks. Looking for assistance with OEM parts and basic sag adjusments. In those 7 times the triumph tech/parts man has not been in. Unavailable. Not only that but the other people in the dealership have not been able to help me with either parts or adjustments. Pathetic. Plain and simple. I love my S3 and want to get the most out of it that I can. The dealership should be the go to place for that information but in Memphis...... they ARE NOT.

Now for the hope. Check out Motorcycle Madness on Sumner Ave. They are a chopper/custom shop that have a pair of gentlemen that assist when not racing on or working on racing team bikes. After 2 1/2 hours of adjustments and fine tunings. They adjusted my sag and various other issues for the quoted price. Point is they lost their shirt on the deal. Charging less than 25% of actual time spent (by shop rate). I would have never thought they would have had that kind of integrity being a "Harley" shop and not a Sportbike shop. But I gotta tell you R1, Gixxer, CBR, Ducati, and Triumph owners would be well served here. They not only did the job well (proof being in the "long" ride home) but educated me on the adjustments and what to keep an eye on. I am not only an adjusted in tune S3 rider now but also a more educated Triumph owner just for having let them service my Bike.

Excellent service and excellent people. GIve 'em a shot i you are in need of some help.

PS. They respond well to tips.... lol.

Boots on and Rolling from Memphis.

I visited the Memphis Triumph dealer several times when I was shopping for my current bike, I ended up finding a better deal on a used Sprint elsewhere. I have called to inquire on several occasions about getting my Sprint checked out and making sure any recalls had been taken care of and I can never catch the Triumph guy there either.
I didn't find out till after the fact but there was a shooting on the showroom floor several months ago in which an employee was killed. I can't see how something like that could happen without impacting the people there deeply. I would like to be able to support them and make sure they stay around. Its good to know there is a back up spot in town though. Thanks for sharing the info.

I went the the Memphis deaers when I lived in Mississippi briefly. The problem was the the Memphis dealer was changing every year to a different cycle shop. All I ever got was "grief" when I went there.

In fact, one owner met me at the door and said "are you looking or going to buy"?? If all I had was the Memphis dealer, I would be buying a japper.

Go up to Donnelsons in St. Louis. It's not that far and definitely well worth it. St Anne.

In fact, we can car pool and go up together sometime as I live near Little Rock!!!

Or, blast up on the back roads of Missouri and nothern AR. Very pretty ride, when it warms this spring, that is............

Looking for a dealer to compare to LR BMW/Triumph

Hi. I saw this thread and wanted to write. About a month ago, I crashed my 2001 Sprint ST...totaled it out and dern near killed myself. Well, I am back walking, and I hope the doctor clears me to ride again by March '08.
My point is that I bought my Triumph from the old Triumph dealer (owner Bill Rush) and I loved the service, but I have been unhappy with the Triumph dealer now that it is in BMW Little Rock.
I am looking to buy a '08 Tiger or Sprint ST, but I wanted to check out other dealerships...looks like Memphis is a bust (are they still open?), so I thought I would take John21 up on his suggestion and drive to St. Louis to check out another dealer. I also live near Little Rock. Are there any dealers near Tulsa? The Triumph website is difficult to use to find dealers. Thanks.

Thumbs up

There is no longer a dealer in Tulsa, But there is an outstanding dealer in El Dorado Springs Mo. They are about a 100 miles north of Joplin and I highly recommend them. It is a small shop where the owner is the only salesman good service and friendly people.

I know for a fact that he has an '07 demo tiger, and the last time I was up there he had 3 '08's. It is well worth the drive and he will usually beat msrp.

LAst time I went, the Memphis Triumph dealer (Kawasaki of Memphis) had at least one 07 Sprint in Red on the floor. It had been there quite a while. If its still there they may be ready to let it go for a song, who knows.

Yes, The Memphis Dealer is still selling bikes. They have a few on floor but, I do not go there anymore. Been serviced 3 times at Motorcycle Madness just on a walk in basis. Guys there loved bikes and that is what drives awesome service. They do what they do from passion not to make a buck (although they do want some buck too....lol.) If I need a dealer looks like I will head to Nashville or Birmingham for help. Long road for me 3-4 anyway I travel.

Found a dealer and bought a 2008 Thruxton

Well, I contacted the dealer in El Dorado Springs, MO and he was real easy to deal with. I ended up ordering a 2008 Thruxton in Aluminum w/red stripe. I go pick it up on Jan 25th. Already had the TORs installed and the bike re-jetted. Soon the AI will be gone along with the airbox. I plan on trailering it back to Little Rock and then waiting for some warmer days to start breaking it in.

Randy and the guys in El Dorado are a stand up bunch.

The Rusty Jug is a good place to eat while you are there.
