An End To The Rumors (for this year anyway)
Here's the deal...
In my opinion, there will NOT be a new cruiser this year. Triumph has already shown their 2008 line-up at the Paris Motorcycle Show ( http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2...29/064612.html).
In keeping with the two new models promised each year and with that trend actually being one new model and one redesigned model, this year Triumph has (as we already know) the new Street Triple and has redisigned (almost) three new models. As we already know Triumph has redisigned the Speedmaster and America, but, they have also redisigned the

You can't kill rumors that easily, Soren. Not even with silver bullets and wooden stakes. Some folks are already convincing themselves that (insert the top item on their wish list here) will be a mid-season surprise.
Of course, there might be one. But if so, it won't be any more than one, so lots of folks will be disappointed all over again and the talk will shift to next fall.
If we could just harness all that energy for the good of mankind....

We have to wait until *after* the USA Triumph dealers meeting in GA this month to verify whether there'll be a new 1500cc cruiser and/or Rocket 3 Tourer. Until then, there's nothing of substance to gnaw on.

Except for the 2008 model list which is already on the Triumph US website.

Triumph has a history of mid-season surprises, if I remember right, but they turn into a new model the next year, if I remember right. If there is a big parallel twin, it may leak out by May or so, but it won't be official until next September. That's my guess. The rumor mill isn't as hyperactive as it has been in the past, so maybe Triumph is settling into production for a while.

Did Triumph launch the new Tiger at spring time? Maybe the 1500 cc cruiser will appear next spring.

Seems that Paris was a fizzer for Triumph, but there is still Milan to go in November!
They have said that there is one more release for this year so that suggests that it will be the tourer version of the Rocket. I saw it in various stages of assembly on a recent factory tour so its definitely coming.

Thats what puzzled me. The 1500 was never leaked at all, so it was a bummer but no surprise when it wasn't unveiled. But that R3 tourer surprised me because they actually showed pics of it on the road that were obviously not photoshopped. I fully expected that, so you may be right about a mid year release, or even an addition to the T site after the meeting.

No the pics weren't photo shopped. I also saw the bike that that was in the MCN photos. It was parked to one side and had a sort of non gloss look, rough looking panniers, etc. Compared to that the new bikes bikes look great. New colour scheme. Awesome bike, think I might have to get one.

And judging by the email I just got from Triumph, the Rocket III Tourer has indeed been introduced at this weekend's dealer meeting.
Pay attention, everyone: it's a very common practice in many industries to go ahead and announce a preliminary product lineup but hold off on announcing a new model in order to preserve the surprise.
Until the various fall events have taken place, you can't assume anything.
