How many Scramblers have been manufactured by Triumph?

Hey there!

I just bought a '06 Scrambler new at the Portland Motorcycle Co. in Portland, OR and I'm loving it. I was just wondering if anyone knows how many Scramblers Triumph has put out so far? Has it been a successful model for them?

Thanks,

Congrats on the bike! If I had money out the wazoo, I'd get a Scrambler to take out when I play with my Jeep - have an America now that I got at Portland Moto. Nice people but I keep hearing that they sort of forget about you after you're out the door - if you're looking to find Triumph people to hang with, check out Cascade Moto Classics in Beaverton. It's half bike shop (sells only Tri and Moto Guzzi) and half hang-out spot, and the people there are great. They also run the only local R.A.T. club, with meetings on the first Saturday of every month at a restaurant down the street.

And they have more Triumph goodies there...Portland Mot. is more a BMW place.

Maybe I'll see ya around.

I don't know how many they built to date. I don't think they are selling as fast as some other bikes. They hang around the dealership floor a bit longer than I expected when they first came out. They seem to sell about as fast as Sprints do. 955 Tigers seemed to be tough sells, and so did Daytona 600s after the first run, but those are the only ones that don't go pretty fast. Some of the vertical twin cruisers don't seem to sell as fast, either. 675s, new Tigers, and Speed Triples seem to disappear off the floor in approximately a week, maybe two at the most.

Take these observations with a grain of salt. I don't work at a dealership, and go in maybe once a month for parts. I always talk to the sales staff about Triumphs, as long as they are not busy selling them, because I am always curious to know what sells and what doesn't.

I think Will has pretty summed it up pretty accurately, and I DO work at a dealer. But, since we are reporting on the same dealer, I am sure your results may vary, as they say, based on where you live

The dealer here in New Orleans is moving them at a decent pace.

When I moved down here just over a month ago, I was a little dissapointed when they didn't have any Scramblers in stock. I thought maybe they werent popular down here.

I mentioned that when I was in there this weekend, and the owner said they didn't have any because they don't last on the floor long.

They got a blue one in a couple weeks ago, but its already gone. They have a red one on display now. The owner said he expects to have it gone before the dealer meeting in 3 weeks, and he won't get any more until after the dealer meeting.

The owner said he rides a green/silver one daily.
