How Long in Advance Does Triumph Tell Dealers About Promotions?

I missed the $1200 in accessories promotions by 2 days. It started on September 1. The dealer claims that they were not told about the promotion until after September 1. I find that hard to believe.

I can understand Triumph not telling dealers weeks in advance so that sales don't come to a halt waiting for the promotion, but they must have told dealers at least a few days in advance, or else risk the situation when a buyer on September 1, Saturday, demands to a puzzled dealer that he hands over $1200 in accessories, and being weekend the dealer can't even call Triumph to see if such a promotion is taking place.

Does anybody know, or would Triumph be willing to tell me when they publicized their promotion? If so who do I call?

Many thanks.

Triumph sends out word of promotions well in advance by e-mail. There may be two things going on here, or more.

Possible answers to your questions

1. There are some dealers, still, who do not have e-mail. Incredible, but true.
2. Some dealers have e-mail but do not use it very much at all, and often do not check their own e-mail for customer questions, etc. This is, of course, a tremendous advantage to those dealers that do.

3. The biggest factor is that such promotions (from all the manufacturers) are usually offered to the dealer, not given to the dealer. There is usually some sort of obligation on the dealer, whether in money or units ordered or something else, and in some cases a dealer may choose to not take part. That is why in almost all promotions you will see that little tag "at participating dealers." If we were out of Bonnevilles and could not get any more, for example, it would make little sense to take part in a special Bonneville promotion. I do not recognize or recall this promotion, so I would imagine we chose not to participate as well.

I don't know why you were told that. It could be true. Might not be. I am sure Triumph would not want to share that information with you in any case.

New TBA

Went to 2 different dealers for pricing. On Sep 6 I went to the first dealer and saw a Red/Black, I mentioned it was a good deal with th $1200 in access. He did not know about it yet, but checked their email and there it was. The next day I went back and the bike was repriced with the note about the 1200 in access.
They would not come down $200 and said they only got 700+ for credit on the access.
So I got my TBA at the second place, they only wanted to know if their price was within reason of the first dealer. I got all black and saved $400 going here. And everyone likes the black better, a good choice. $8499 out the door.
Yest. did 120 mile ride for Cancer, my wifes first ride and she loved it.
